“Managing Port Company” held a solemn meeting devoted to its 10th Anniversary

The largest Russian port holding “Managing Port Company” comprising the high-tech sea coal handling terminals - JSC “Vostochny Port” (Vrangel, Primorsky Region) and JSC “Rosterminalugol” (Ust-Luga, Leningradskaya Oblast) - held a solemn meeting in honor of its 10th birthday. The event was held at the site of the XII International “Transport of Russia” Forum in Moscow.
Irina Olkhovskaya- the Deputy Director General of “Managing Port Company,” welcomed the guests at the booth. The following Honored Guests arrived to congratulate the port holding on the anniversary: Nadezhda Zhikhareva - the Deputy Head of the Federal Maritime and River Transport Agency of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation; Serik Zhusupov - the Executive Director of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports; Andrey Lavrishchev - the General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport;” Svetlana Utyasheva - the Director of the Infrastructure Department of the Ministry of the Development of the Russian Far East; Vladimir Sosipatorov - the Director General of JSC “First Heavy Haul Company;” and Anatoly Kitsura - the Director General of LLC “Business Dialogues” and an organizer of “Transport Week.”

Svetlana Utyasheva congratulated the company on behalf of the Ministry of Development of the Russian Far East. “The port holding is rightfully considered as the industry leader, it has high-level technology, effective management policy, modern techniques, it is on the list of socially responsible organizations of Primorsky Region, it is a major taxpayer of the region, and it creates new jobs. Many thanks to “Port Managing Company” that they pay special attention to environmental safety issues, which are now very important for the residents of the entire Far East. I’d like to wish you successful, fruitful work and prosperity,” she said.
Vladimir Sosipatorov, CEO of the largest Russian new generation freight car operator JSC “First Heavy Haul Company” and a partner of “Managing Port Company” in heavy haul technology assimilation in the railway network, pointed at the great contribution made by the port holding in the development of the railway network throughout the country. “The work of “Managing Port Company” is one of those examples where modern and advanced technologies have been successfully implemented on both the eastern and western borders of Russia. These modern and environmentally friendly projects will be the basis of Russia's export opportunities for many years,” he said.
In his greetings, Serik Zhusupov emphasized on the fact that “The port holding manages JSC “Vostochny Port”, which is one of the first Russian specialized coal handling terminals, and JSC “Rosterminalugol”, which is a modern and young terminal. The port holding examplifies the past, the present and the future of Russian terminals.”
“Port Managing Company” is the largest port holding company in Russia with an aggregate transshipment volume of about 50 million tons per year, making up more than a third of Russian sea-based coal exports. Coal is shipped through “Vostochny Port” and “Rosterminalugol” to more than 30 countries of the Asia-Pacific Region, Europe, and the Middle East. The main business of the port holding is the high-tech coal transshipment with the use of the best available technologies, and a sustainable investment in the modernization of high-tech equipment and environmental protection measures.
Currently, the port holding is implementing the largest private investment project in the Far East for the construction of Phase 3 of the Coal Handling Terminal of Vostochny Port, including the development of railway infrastructure facilities in cooperation with JSC “Russian Railways.” The investment operations of “Managing Port Company” will help to increase the volume of Russian coal transshipment by up to 70 million tons in 2019.
